Documentary | 90 min | In Production | Scheduled for 2026
Last House is an observational documentary about a unique housing project in Berlin-Kreuzberg where formerly homeless men with chronic alcohol addiction are allowed to continue drinking. The house sees itself as a final harbor — a place of dignity, community, and safety for people often considered “beyond therapy” within the social care system.
Through the daily lives of the residents and the staff, through celebrations, losses, and a generational shift in leadership, the film explores addiction, homelessness, and toxic masculinity — and poses a fundamental question: What does help mean when it asks for nothing in return?
The film received production funding in 2024 from the German Federal Government Commissioner for Culture and the Media (BKM), is currently in production and is planned to be released in 2026.
